

Kenneth Anderson Wright, resident of Brunswick, passed away at home on Saturday, October 24, 2015 after an extended illness. A native Australian, Ken was born in Melbourne, Victoria on November 30, 1927 to Joseph Harry Wright and Millicent Gladys Wright, and received an honors degree from Royal Melbourne Technical College. An avid swimmer and tennis player, he was a member of the renowned Royal Life Saving Society and served in several youth defense organizations in Australia during World War II.
Settling in Brunswick in 1948, he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Hohenfels, Germany. Following his service, he worked at the Brunswick News for several years before retiring from Glover Printing Company. Among other activities, he was in past years a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, the Jaycees and the Escorts’ Club, and he travelled extensively with, and hosted as a member of, the Friendship Force. In recent years, he was a member of Christ Church Frederica on St. Simons Island.
Ken was predeceased by his daughter, Leigh Ann Wright, his twin brother, John Anderson Wright, and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Lane Wright, his son, Kenneth A. Wright, Jr. of New York, New York, his sister, Jose Wright Lambright of Brunswick, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday evening October 28, 2015 from 6PM until 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Christ Church, Frederica at11AM on Thursday, October 29, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Christ Church, Frederica (6329 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, GA 31522). Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
