

Mae attended the public schools of Kingstree, SC. She formerly attended the 7th day Adventist Church in Brunswick, and later became a member of First Friendship Baptist Church for 25 years; she continued for the next 5 years in Waycross. She is proceeded in death by her late husband, Mr. Willie Collins, Sr., and her son, Willie Collins, Jr.; two brothers, Spencer Brockington and Isaac James Brockington; four sisters, Rectina Shaw, Edith Shaw, Oneida Gamble and Allafair Chandler.
Mae leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Lillie (David) Mack of Brunswick, Jeannette (Charles) Roundtree of Brunswick, Mary (Tyrone) Favors of Brunswick, Emily (Leon) Gordon of Darien, and Van Kelly of Brunswick; two sons, Deacon Wenda Collins, Sr. and Crown Collins, all of Brunswick; a sister, Laura Brockington Freeman of Washington, DC; 27 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the O Street Church of God. Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Leon Russell, Maurice Chapman, Marlon Gordon, Marcus Gordon, Malcolm Collins and Ron Kelley.
