

Margaret J. Crosby, 78, of Brunswick, departed this life Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Friday, June 2, 2017 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with The Reverends Larry Daughtry and Jim McIlrath officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Josh Crosby, Zack Crosby, Baxter Shaw, James Turner, Clay Strother, and Jimmy Shaw serving as pallbearers. Members of Prime Timers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born December 21, 1938 in Summerville, Georgia to the late Jack and Helen M. Johnston, she had been a resident of Glynn County since 1959. She was retired from The Glynn County Board of Education where she transported students to and from school safely for many years. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and a member of Prime Timers Senior Citizens Group at Hutcheson Plantation. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, sewing, “junking” and most importantly spending time with her family who she adored. Her loving and peaceful nature were evident to all who knew her, and her home was always a place where everyone felt loved and welcomed. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lavonne Crosby, two brothers, Louie Johnston and Hugh Johnston, and a sister, Doris Hurley.
Survivors include four children, Cheryl T. Shaw, Greg A. Crosby and wife Mari, Kathy C. Hutcheson and husband Wayne, and Christie C. Pennington and husband Joe all of Brunswick, eight grandchildren, Margaret Anne Strother and husband Clay, Baxter Shaw, Joshua Blake Crosby, Zack Crosby and wife Crystal, Mary Kathryn Crosby, Kaleigh Pennington, Taylor Pennington and Josey Pennington, five great grandchildren, Aston Pennington, Lily Crosby, Clara Crosby, Cooper Crosby, and Ansley Strother, and a special friend of 26 years, Albert Erwin of Brunswick.
