

She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Ann Holton (Michael); two granddaughters, Margaret “Beth” Rooks (Jason) and Rachel McDade (Tim); two sisters, Jane Hare (Mel) and Diane Wine; six great granddaughters, Alyssa Ryals, Payton Ryals, Kynleigh Rooks, Anniston Rooks, Kamber Rooks, and Courtney McDade and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy is preceded in death by her late husband, Jordan P. Jung “Bud”, a great granddaughter, Jorja Rooks, a brother, David Sohn and her parents, Albert and Margaret Sohn.
Peggy was a native of Columbus, In., where she attended Columbus High School. While working at the Gas Company in Columbus, she met her future husband Bud9 Who worked at Cummins Diesel) and were married on October 31th, 1948
While living in Atlanta, Peggy was a very active member of the Jaycee’s and the Silver Lake Garden Club. She also was a member of Peachtree Pre4sbyterian Church.
She had been a resident of St. Simons Island for 16 years and attended St. Simons Presbyterian Church.
She loved to travel the world, interior designing, and to paint/ her greatest joys in the World were her two granddaughters, seven great granddaughters, and her beloved dog, Fritz. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and was an avid Georgia Tech supporter. Peggy and Bud were extremely involved with the Republican Party and attended President Regan’s inauguration.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Saturday 1/10/15 in the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with interment to follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St. Simons Island.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM Monday 12/29/14 and on Friday 1/9/15 from 6 to 8 PM.
The family request donations to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, Alzheimer’s Association or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
