

Marion “Pete” Sumner, 66, a resident of Darien, Ga., died Tuesday 4/12/2010 at his residence in Darien. Mr. Sumner was a native and lifelong resident of Darien. He was a retired Truck Driver and a member of the Teamsters Union. He won numerous Safe Driving awards for never having an accident the whole time he drove a truck. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Darien, Ga
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Sumner and his parents, Lucille Love Sumner and John Wesley Sumner, Sr.
Survivors are his wife, Delphina Sumner of Darien, daughters, Tina S. Whaley of Darien, Annette Williams of Brunswick, Patricia Sumner of Darien, Kathy Huntley of Orange Park, Fl., grandchildren, Ashley Sumner, Macy Huntley, David Sumner, Ashton Sumner, Morgan Sumner, Meaghan Gardner, Jordan Gardner, great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Beals and Aiden Beals, a sister, Wanda Pickard of Baxley, Ga., and a brother, James Love of Atlanta, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Friday 4/16/2010 from the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Kunkle officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien.
Active pallbearers will be: Matthew Hager, Jordan Gardner, David Sumner, James Moody, Sam Beecher and Dave Zorn. Honorary pallbearers will be: Men of Northside Baptist Church of Darien, Gene Herndon, Darrell Herndon, Wesley Sumner, Andy Cox, Wayne Folts and Randy Evans.
The family will receive friend Friday from 11:00 AM to 1 PM in the Funeral Home.
