Marjorie Gail Asbell entered peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Hospice of the Golden Isles at the age of 74. She was born in Claxton, Georgia the daughter of the late Blanche Manning Sapp and the late Clarence Odell Sapp. She was also preceded in death by her late husband Garey Don Asbell; a daughter Pamela Gail Asbell-Amick; a grandson Stephen Garey Amick.
Gail, as she was affectionately known, moved to Brunswick as a young child and graduated from Glynn Academy. She was a lady of faith and frequently could be seen reading and studying her bible. She was an active member of Bay Harbour Church of God. She was devoted to her family and especially to her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Gail had a servant’s heart and lived to help others. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all.
Left to cherish her many memories are her daughter Stacy Asbell Slusher; a son Donnie Asbell (Connie); granddaughter, Courtney Asbell; three grandsons, Caleb Slusher, Taylor Asbell, Ryan Amick (Sarah); five great grandchildren, Raelynn Asbell, Everleigh Asbell, Kenzie Amick, Colton Amick, Hayven Amick; two brothers, Davey Sapp (Shirley) and Roger Sapp (Robbie); four sisters, Sharon Sweet (Dave), Sylvia Edenfield (Billy), Terri Howard; Lori Ann Turner (Gary) and step mother, Lucille Sapp. Several nieces and nephews also survived.
The family will receive friends between 12:00 – 1:30pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. The funeral service will follow the visitation in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home starting at 1:30pm with Dr. John Harris officiating. The burial will follow the service in Brunswick Memorial Park cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Ryan Amick, Davey Sapp, Michael Brockington, Caleb Slusher, Taylor Asbell and Danny Brockington.
Gail’s love for helping others led her to become friends with many fellow church members that shared the same passion therefore, Honorary Pallbearers will be Bay Harbours’ Second Harvest Volunteers.
