Marlene S. Brown

Marlene Brown, 77, of Darien, departed this life Saturday, May 9, 2015 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10AM Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Upper Mill Cemetery in Darien with Rev. Mike Huling officiating.

Born July 15, 1937 in McIntosh County, Georgia to the late Bennie L. and Annie Lue B. Shepherd, she was a lifelong resident of McIntosh County. Mrs. Brown was employed as a clerical assistant with the City of Darien, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Darien. She enjoyed spending time with her family, painting, her pets and reading. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Brown.

Survivors include a son, David Shepherd of Columbia, SC, a granddaughter, Brandi Shepherd, a brother, Harmon Shepherd of Darien, step children, Lori Brown of Peachtree City, GA, Jeff Brown of Jacksonville, FL, and Sharon Hempe of Valdosta, GA, and numerous step grandchildren, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
