Nancy B. Lanasa, a longtime resident of Saint Simons Island, died August 22nd, 2023, surrounded by her husband and daughters. She was born October 19,1949 in Chillicothe, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Alice Ann Braun. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1972. She married Frank Lanasa on April 7th, 1984. They were married for 39 years. Nancy was a teacher in the Glynn and McIntosh county school systems for over twenty years. Nancy was an English teacher, an artist, and a devoted mother. Nancy loved her family and the many rescue dogs she adopted over the years. She is survived by her husband, Frank Lanasa; her daughters, Suzanne and Holly; and her son-in-law, Evan DeYoung. She will be forever missed.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 25th from 6-8 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 11 a.m. at St. Simons Presbyterian Church. Masks are encouraged, but not required. Please direct any gifts to the family through the attached site in lieu of flowers.
