Nelson Edward Spriggs

Nelson was born on May 5, 1945, in Riverdale, Maryland to the late Alvin and Gertrude Spriggs. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Rhode Island. While there, he became a member of Lambda Chi Alpha and participated in the ROTC program. He graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

After college, Nelson enlisted in the United States Navy, and later retired from the Air Force Reserves. Following his military career, he became a Certified Fraud Examiner for Southeastern Bank.

Nelson enjoyed boating, fishing, socializing and watching his favorite sports with his beloved grandson, Collin.

He is preceded in death by both parents, Alvin and Gertrude Spriggs, and his son, Collin Benston Spriggs, Sr.

He is survived by his devoted grandson, Collin Benston Spriggs, Jr.

A celebration of life for Nelson will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave, Brunswick, GA 31520.

Nelson’s final resting place will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
