Otto John Klawitter, 70, of Darien, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at SGHS in Brunswick. Memorial services will be held 10AM Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in Darien with Father Bob Showers officiating. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born January 27, 1943 in Suring, Wisconsin, to the late Otto and Hazel B. Klawitter, he was a retired Paralegal with Georgia Legal Services. He had been a resident of Darien since 2000, and was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in Darien and Knights of Columbus. Mr. Klawitter was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and Green Bay Packers fan, he also enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Magali Klawitter and two sisters and a brother.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Jean Klawitter of Darien, six children, Jonathan Klawitter and wife Bonnie of Darien, Ingrid Brown and husband Steve of Darien, Robert Overman and wife Nicola of Brunswick, Michael Clark and wife Lisa of Pensacola FL, Cindi Williford and husband Brock of Shellman Bluff and Karen Bray and husband David of St. Simons, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Herman Klawitter of Suring, WI, Mike Klawitter of Broken Arrow, OK, 2 sisters, Edna McLaughlin from Whitewater, WI. and Sally Gustafson of Iron River, WI, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning at Nativity of our Lady Catholic Church in Darien from 9AM until the funeral hour.
