Peter Araujo Rapoza

Peter was born March 26, 1945 Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal the son of the late Joao Raposo and the late Luiza Raposo. He had resided in Brunswick, Georgia for the past thirty-five years. He was a retired Brick Mason with Brick Layers and Allied Craftsman. He was also a member of Local 3. Peter was of the Catholic faith and a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Joao Raposo and Luiza Raposo; his late wife, Anita Jeanne Rapoza; a brother, Tobias Raposa. Left to cherish his memories are his son, Jason Rapoza Sr of North Carolina; a daughter, Megan Strickland (Mark) of Brunswick, GA; his five grandchildren, Mackenzie Strickland of Brunswick, GA, Dalton Rapoza of Callahan, Fl, Dylan Rapoza of Callahan, FL, Jason Rapoza Jr. of Callahan, FL, and Mark Strickland of Brunswick, GA; his siblings, Manuel Raposa (Edelta) of Falmouth, MA, John Raposa (Ann) of Franklin, MA, Paul Raposa (Ina) of Falmouth, MA, and Merciana Carvalho (Antonio) of Dartmouth, MA.

Peter enjoyed woodworking, painting, and working in his yard. He took great pride in the appearance of the landscape around his home. Peter also enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking. He liked to travel also.

The family will receive friends during the hours of 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Tim McKeown officiating the service. Burial will follow the service in Chapel Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving during the service will be Dalton Rapoza, Jason Rapoza Jr, Mark Strickland, Glenn Henderson, Mark Strickland, and Kenneth Shaw.
