

Ray Hamilton Pruett, a resident of St. Simons Island, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the age of 70. Ray was a native of Aberdeen, Mississippi, but lived in Glynn County for the last 47 years. He worked for 25 years at King and Prince Seafood and finished his career as a sales manager at Icelandic Seafood. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church on St. Simons Island and was known for his friendliness and generosity. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and woodworking. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Taylor Marie Pruett, his parents, Clinton and Betty Tate Pruett and two brothers, David and Charlie Pruett.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Ann Pruett of St. Simons Island; a daughter, Kelly Tate Pruett of Summerville, SC; three sons, Charlie Hamilton Pruett, Gentry Clinton Pruett and Chris David Pruett, all of St. Simons Island; twin granddaughters, Jamey and Ramey Baker; a grandson, Gerald Baker; three brothers, Billy Pruett (Shirley) of Aberdeen, MS, Bobby Pruett (Sandra) of Tupelo, MS and Roy Pruett of Aberdeen, MS; two sisters, Peggy Shelton (Jerry) of Murray, KY and Betty Weaver of Jackson, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Steve Patton and Reverend Wright Culpepper officiating.
