

He was born February 10, 1936 in Brunswick, GA and graduated from Glynn Academy in 1954. He graduated from Georgia Southern College in Statesboro, GA in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Major in Music.
He taught band in public schools for 12 years, then returned home to Darien, GA in 1973 to become Vice President of Darien Telephone Company, Inc., serving until his death.
Reggie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Flo Jackson; a daughter and son in law, Melodie and Tim Johnson; grandchildren Cody & Sydnee Strickland; Joseph Zimoski; Gus Johnson; Hayden Johnson; one adopted grandson, Jevonte Latimer; one great grandson, Wyatt Strickland; a sister Mary Lou Forsyth and brother in law Joe Byrd; a niece Mary Alice Thomas and her son, Jackson Thomas.
His parents, Mr. & Mrs. Richard V. Jackson (Bessie) preceded him in death.
Reggie participated in the Jekyll Island Big Dance Band for sixteen and a half years. He was very active in his church, Calvary Baptist in Brunswick since 1987.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick, GA.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Darien First Baptist Church, Darien, Ga. Dr. Bryan Whitfield & Dr. Don Spires will officiate.
Interment will follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Darien, Ga. Rev. Ron Stinson and Rev. William Whitfield will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Grandsons Cody Strickland and Joseph Zimoski; Billy Wetherington, Robert Brigman, Ken Johnson, Lawrence Kell, Jesse Varnedoe, and Ray Browder.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jevonte Latimer, Adopted Grandson; Employees of the Darien Telephone Company, Inc., and the Glynn Academy Class of 1954.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 3105 Wildwood Drive, Brunswick, Ga. 31520.
