Richard was born August 21, 1927 in Brunswick, Georgia the son of the late Bernard A. Brunegraff and the late Bessie Hope Brunegraff. He was also preceded in death by his three siblings, Bernard O. Brunegraff, Dorice Vinson, and Donal Brunegraff.
He was a graduate of Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia and then South Georgia College in Douglas, Georgia. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he received his BA in Accounting from the University of Georgia. Richard was a retired bookkeeper with the Glynn County Board of Education. He was also a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will always be remembered as a generous and loving man who was always sociable. He will also be remembered for his distinctive laugh and sense of humor.
Left to cherish Richard’s memories are his eleven nieces and nephews, Debra Modis, Cindy Crass, Mary “Marel” Flores, Lisa Brunegraff, Bernard “Bernie” Brunegraff, Hope Cook, Richard Vinson, Kathy Hill, Krista MacMichael, Karen Brunegraff, and Dana Brunegraff; his sister-in-law, Jane Brunegraff and a very special family friend, Mary Elizabeth Beckham also survives.
Richard enjoyed traveling and went to Germany to research his family genealogy. Richard loved to spend time with his family and friends. He always had a positive outlook on life and never complained. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
The family will receive friends between 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 12, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Tim McKeown officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.
