Sara L. Odum

Mrs. Odum was a native of Long County and had been a resident of McIntosh County since 1943. She was a graduate of Wayne County High School Class of 1939/1940. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Darien and was very active in the work of the Church. She was a matron of the Live Oak Chapter #331, Order of Eastern Star in Darien.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Lee Odum, Sr., a son Ben Lee Odum, Jr., her parents,John and Hautense Smith and a brother, William (Billy) Smith.

Survivors are her son, John W. Odum (Mary) of Darien, Ga., a brother, Harry F. Smith of Walterboro, S.C., two granddaughters, Ashley Odum Davis (Russ) and Christy Odum Solomon (Timmy) both of Jesup, Ga., a great granddaughter, Maria Tabbott Solomon, two great grandsons, John Thomas Davis and Benlee Hamilton Davis all of Jesup, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday from the St. Andrews Cemetery. with rev. Ron Register and Rev.Daniel Serapin.

The family will receive friends at the Graveside one hour before services.

The family request those wishing may make contributions to the Donor’s Choice.
