Stephen and Margaret Stewart

Coach Steve Stewart, 50, of Brunswick, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 in Brantley County, Georgia from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Blythe Island Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Brown officiating.

Born November 1, 1960 in White County, Tennessee to William Thomas and Virginia Irene Peek Stewart, he was an educator and coach at Glynn Middle School. Mr. Stewart was a former resident of Birmingham, AL, he received his Masters Degree in Special Education from Tennessee Tech. He attended Blythe Island Baptist Church and enjoyed outdoor activities, especially Alabama football. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Stewart and his wife , Margaret Elizabeth Kirkland Stewart, who lost her life in the automobile accident on Saturday, April 9, 2011.

Survivors include his son, Steven Stewart , a daughter, Jennie Stewart Larkin and husband Frank, all of Brunswick, his mother, Virginia P. Stewart, a sister, Pam Giles and husband Rusty, all of Birmingham, AL, a brother, Scott Stewart and wife Beverly, of Leesburg, FL, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blythe Island Baptist Church, 170 cut Off Road, Brunswick, GA 31523.

Margaret Elizabeth Kirkland Stewart

Margaret K. Stewart, 48, of Brunswick, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 in Savannah, Georgia from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Blythe Island Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Brown officiating.

Born July 4, 1962 in Birmingham, Alabama to Willie Floyd and Mary Cathryn Thompson Kirkland, she was an educator at Leaps and Bounds in Glynn County. Mrs. Stewart was a former resident of Birmingham, AL, and she received her Bachelors Degree in Education from Tennessee Tech. She attended Blythe Island Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her father Willie Floyd Kirkland and was the widow of Stephen Wyatt Stewart, who lost his life in an automobile accident on Saturday, April 9, 2011.

Survivors include her son, Steven Stewart, a daughter, Jennie Stewart Larkin and husband Frank, all of Brunswick, her mother, Kitty Kirkland of Warrior, AL, three brothers, Riley Kirkland and wife Linda of Empire, AL, Walter Kirkland and wife Cindy of Pinson, AL, and James Kirkland of Warrior, AL, one sister, Cathryn K. Herren and husband Steve of Warrior, AL, several nieces and nephews.
