

T. M. was born in Coffee County to his parents John and Mary Purvis. He was a Navy Veteran who served in WWII while stationed in Gaum. T. M. moved to Brunswick in 1957, working as a checker for the ILA and was a former President of the ILA Union. He was a member of College Place United Methodist Church. He loved his church, his family, and fishing. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Lucille Day Purvis; his daughter Gail Faulkner; two step-daughters, Geraldine Hendricks and Gail Johnson; and a granddaughter, Sonya Thomas.
He is survived by his beloved wife Cora Purvis; his daughters, Patricia Richardson, Frances Davis, and Vikki Purvis Peete; his stepdaughter, Josephine Kindle; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2pm Friday, June 23 from the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons. Entombment with military honors to follow at Chapel Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tommy Eades, Richard Rowland, Scott Strean, James Sellers, and Keith Hendricks.
Honorary pallbearers are the Co-ed Sunday School class at College Place, and the staff of Ole Times Restaurant.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are entrusted with Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
