

He was a native of Brantley County, Georgia and had been a resident of Flowery Branch for the past two years. He was a former resident of Glynn County for approximately 65 Years. He was employed as a Iron Worker for R. E. Thomas Erectors. He was a member of the Iron Worker Union #597 in Jacksonville, Fl. He served in the Navy for two years during World War II in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Brunswick, and a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He was a former Trustee of the Church. He loved fishing and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie James and Mattie Lee Jacobs, a sister, Geneva Jacobs and two brothers, Cecil Jacobs and Raymond Jacobs.
Survivors are his wife, Margie McDonald Jacobs of Flowery Branch, Ga., two daughter, Denise Stewart of Flowery Branch, Ga. and Darlene Jacobs of Brunswick, four sisters, Willie Mae Strickland of Lakeland, Fl., Louise Cody of Isle of Palm, S.C., Edith Barkley and Mary Ette Blanchard both of Brunswick, five grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Friday July 15, 2011 at the United Pentecostal Church in Brunswick with Rev. H. E. Wheatley, Rev. Danny Webster, and Rev. Carl Wheatley officiating. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: R. D. Smith, Jimmy Branch, Ray Cason, Bryan Hires, Ray Potter, and Wayne Revell.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM Thursday.
