William Burton Greene, Sr.

William Burton “Bo” Greene, Sr., 81 of Brunswick, departed this life Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at The Grace Place with Pastor Ron Scarboro officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien with Joe White, Hazen Danforth, Ryan Johnson, Dale Cardwell, Jamie Gibbs, John Smith, Chris Grier and Scott Grier serving as pallbearers.

Born January 24, 1935 in Tifton, Georgia to the late Harmon S. Greene and Mattie Laura D. Selph, he had lived most of his life in Glynn County. Mr. Greene was a former employee at Kings Colonial Ford where he worked in the body shop, and also worked for Burgess Wholesale. He was a founding Member of The Grace Place in Brunswick. Mr. Greene enjoyed watching westerns, singing and songwriting, and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Irma Jean S. Greene, two sisters, Betty Ann Willis and Judy Morris, and a brother, Lee Greene.

Survivors include his son, William Burton “Burt” Greene, Jr., a daughter, Felecia Kay Johnson and husband Mikey, two grandchildren, Ryan Johnson and Hannah Johnson, all of Brunswick, a sister, Mattie Blanch Grier and husband Ellis of Marietta, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, September 6, 2016 from 6PM until 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Grace Place or Hospice of The Golden Isles. www.edomillerandsons.com
