Anne Marie Nash

Anne was born in Youngstown, Alberta, on October 17, 1926. She attended school there before moving to Calgary to further her education. It was in Calgary that she married Harvey and made her home for the remainder of her life.

Throughout her working years, Anne held a variety of positions as a cashier with Canada Safeway, K-Mart, Calgary Co-op, the Alberta Liquor Control Board, and Sears. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who took pride in everything she did.

Anne and Harvey shared a wonderful love of travel. Together, they travelled throughout Western Canada in their RV, visiting family and friends and making new friends wherever they went. They never hesitated to make the trip to attend a family gathering in Alberta or British Columbia, and these times spent together with loved ones were among the things they treasured most.

Square dancing was also a special part of Anne and Harvey’s life before retirement. Anne’s crowning achievement was dancing in the closing ceremonies of the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary – a memory she was very proud of and one that perfectly captured her love of music, dancing, and being part of the community.

Anne had a generous heart and was always willing to give her time to causes that were important to her. She volunteered countless hours throughout her life and genuinely cared about helping others. Her warm and positive outlook made everyone around her feel welcome and valued.

Anne was a true social butterfly. Her calendar was always full of activities, commitments, gatherings, and, most importantly, people she loved. She cherished her friendships and her community and rarely missed an opportunity to connect with others. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel like they belonged, and she brought warmth and joy wherever she went.

Above all else, Anne was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her family was the centre of her world, and she gave them her unwavering love, support, and encouragement. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, positive spirit, and the many lives she touched throughout her 99 years.

Anne leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who have the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Anne is lovingly remembered and survived by her three children Don (Beryl) Orr, Elaine (Keith) Kowalski, Shane (Melissa) Nash; grandchildren - Caitlin, Joel, Darren (Shannon), and Ken; great grandchildren - Abigail and Derrick (Kayla); great great grandchildren - Brea, Weston and Nixon.

She is predeceased by her husband, Harvey Nash and granddaughter, Elaine Orr.

A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

Interment to follow at the Queen’s Park Cemetery, 3219 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary.
