Barbara was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She built a successful career in the oil and gas industry, but her greatest passion was her love of dogs. She was especially devoted to her Bearded Collies, which she bred, raised, and proudly exhibited in dog shows, often earning top honors and awards. Barbara was also a devoted caregiver to her parents, offering them loving support and care.
Barbara is survived by her sister-in-law Nora Niddrie; niece Denise Niddrie; nephew William Niddrie; and cousins in Edmonton, British Columbia and the United Kingdom. She will also be remembered and missed dearly by her close friends. Barbara is predeceased by her parents Irma Jesse and William Albert Niddrie, and her brother William Niddrie.
A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation to begin at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will be in care of Foster’s Garden Chapel.
