FRASER – Barnet “Barney” JohnFebruary 9, 1932 ~ September 17, 2009It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Barney Fraser September 17, 2009. Barney was born at home in Auburndale, Alberta, February 9, 1932 to Byron and Alice Fraser (nee Harrison). He was the youngest of 5 siblings. Barney married Shirley Reinhart on August 21, 1954 and they remained together for 55 years. Barney was predeceased by his parents, Byron and Alice Fraser and his siblings Aylmer, Shirley and Ross. Left to mourn are his 8 children: Robb (Linda), Kathy (Rod Livermore), Jim (Dean), Polly (Rob Jollimore), Bev (Bob Morros), Terry (Shelly), Wendy Dean (nee Fraser), Gary (Cathy). Barney took great joy in his 14 grandchildren: Jake (Tamara), Luke (Jessica), Les (Jen), Tobi, Sarah, Mark, Amanda, Marliese, Samantha, Jamie, Tyler, Craig, Cole, Katie and 4 great grandchildren: Tristan, Chase, Julliette and Griffen. He is also survived by his brother Neil.Heart felt thanks go out to the staff at the Foothills ICU and Southwood Hospice whose caring dedication eased his passing.The Fraser family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all the thoughtfull expressions of love and kindness by relatives and friends during this time of loss and bereavement.A Funeral Service was held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South, Calgary on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Mount Auburn Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Southwood Hospice, 3rd Floor, 211 Heritage Drive SE, Calgary, AB T2H 1M9.Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family in the Guest Book Section adjacent to this biography.
