Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, she was the fourth of ten children. She later followed her daughter to Calgary making it her home for more than 20 years. She is lovingly remembered by her children Lia O’Hara (Francis) and Dwi Aliwarga (Lyvia), and her grandchildren Nikolaus, Kristo, Isaac, and Quinxia.
Belyana was known for her delicious Indo-Chinese cuisine and infectious smile. She loved cooking, hiking, listening to Queen, Roy Orbison, and Johnny Cash, taking photos, wrapping gifts, and making sure no one was ever left hungry. She always made time for the Lord, loved going to Sunday Mass, and always said yes to prayer. Belly had a special gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved.
Belly will be remembered as a devoted mother, a doting grandma, an adopted grandmother to many, and someone who made room for everyone. Her kindness, warmth, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 640 – 19 Avenue N.W., Calgary on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flower, if friends so desire, memorial donations in Belyana’s name may be made directly to Feed the Hungry Calgary (www.catholicyyc.ca/feedthehungry).
