Caterina was born in San Giovanni D’Albi, Catanzaro (Italy) on May 31, 1937. She was predeceased by her mother Giuseppina and father Gilberto. She was the oldest of five children and was a mother to all of them. Caterina was recently predeceased by her brother Nicola (Maria) and is survived by Gregorio (Anna), Annunziata (Nicola), and Rosetta (Nicola). Caterina was a loving wife to the love of her life Nicola Parrottino; an amazing mother to her four children Concetta (Gaetano), Giuseppina (Pasquale), Rosanna (Rosalbino) and Giuseppe. She was also an incredible grandmother, and great grandmother to her 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild: Francesca, Marco, Maria, Adam, Amanda, Cathy (Alvin), Vanessa and Jahvonny. She was an incredible aunt to many nieces and nephews who she loved like her own children.
Our mamma was one of a kind. She was the most loving, caring, incredible individual anyone could ever meet; her heart was truly made of gold and she gave you everything she had, even when she had nothing. Prior to her stroke in 2014 she loved entertaining; her home was open to anyone and everyone and it truly was a revolving door. Our beautiful mamma did it all, her love of preparing the most amazing meals, gardening, canning, making bread, sausages, salami, cookies, cakes, pasta, wine; everything was always fresh, and everything she did with her own two hands. She was simply amazing; her nickname, the energizer bunny, suited her well as she never stopped. Her storage room was a mini grocery store that we all went shopping in! She had an abundance of anything you can ever imagine, and it was always for anyone. You never left her house empty-handed. Momma was one of the most hard-working individuals you would have ever met and never complained. Once you had her heart, you had it fully. She respected everyone.
Mamma, you were the keeper and maker of all the special moments. You were the thread that held it all together, the pillar of our family; truly a remarkable individual. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Mamma, you are free; free from pain, free from suffering. Go run through the meadows, dance as you loved to do. You are now able to do anything you want, be free our beautiful angel. You will always be near us in some way but our lives will never be the same without our beautiful mamma.
