Cathy Petrin

Our beloved Cathy passed away in Calgary on the afternoon of Feb 28th, 2018 at the age of 51 years. She is survived by her mother Assunta, brother Frank (Paula), niece Kaitlyn and nephew Michael, along with extended family in Calgary, Kelowna and Italy. She is predeceased by her father, Miller Petrin.

Cathy was born in Calgary on December 9th, 1966. She lived her entire life in Calgary, as being close to family was very important to her. She was a hair stylist for the majority of her working years. Cathy lived with mobility issues which increased over the years, but this rarely dampened her spirits. Always the extrovert, she initiated conversations with everyone - there was never an awkward silence when Cathy was around. Her family has fond memories of her talent for putting together thoughtful, creative, and practical Christmas and birthday gifts. She was an avid reader, as this gave her the ability to transport herself beyond her limitations, and she enjoyed the “classics”, whether it was movies, sitcoms or music. Cathy was taken too soon but her family is comforted knowing that she is in peace. She will be forever loved and missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4th Street NW, Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
