Chester Cross of Calgary passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 89 years of age. Chester was born in Consort, AB and lived on the family farm at Naco, AB until marrying Anna Hansen in 1946, moving to Calgary shortly thereafter. Chester spent most of his years working for the City of Calgary, retiring in 1980. He was a very hardworking man with a great sense of humour, a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Chester and Anna were very involved in the Forest Lawn/Falconridge Full Gospel Church, helping to build and renovate as well as ushering for many years. Chester will be forever loved and remembered by Anna, his wife of 65 years; children, Cheryl, Bob and Marvin; as well as six grandchildren and fourteen great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Larry; sisters, Gertrude and Ruth; and brothers, Bob and Bill. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a Visitation held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens at 11:45 a.m., with a Celebration of Life held at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 155 Falconridge Crescent N.E., Calgary at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca
