C.K. "Ken" Reid

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 59 years, Donna and his children Alan (Debbi), Nancy (Rick), Carol (Tom) and Bradley (Karen). His beloved grandchildren: Sarah, Raewyn, Jocelyn, Craig, Lauren, Grant, Gillian and Samuel who brought him much joy. Ken was born in Webb, SK, the youngest of 7 children. In 1946 he moved to Lethbridge, AB, working for Kitson’s Pharmacy prior to starting his career with Canadian Western Natural Gas (Atco). Ken enjoyed 38 years with the “Gas Company” where he made many lifelong friends. He retired in 1990 and enjoyed his retirement years travelling with Donna and friends and continued his life-long spirit of volunteering. Dad had a happy and healthy life up to the last few months. We would like to express our gratitude for the compassionate care that dad received at Glenmore Carewest and to the staff of Unit 94 at the Rockyview Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220-4th Street N.W. Calgary on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Association of the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured (ARBI), 3412 Spruce Drive S.W., Calgary, AB T3C 3A4 or the Wild Rose United Church Memorial Fund, 1317 1 St NW, Calgary, AB T2M 2S5.
