Darlene Maryanne Mergaert (nee Barlishen) passed away January 26, 2014 in Calgary following a short battle with cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Maurice “Bud” Mergaert and her children Carolyn Mergaert (Trevor Gauthier), Kimberly Mergaert and Kevin Mergaert (Tara Tripp). She is also survived by her mother Mary Barlishen, sister Delores (Ronnie) Rybak and their daughter Noelle Seidlikoski, brother-in-law Ken Mergaert (Barb) and their children Mark, Rhonda and Darrell as well as sister-in-law Joan (James) Carlson and their children Elizabeth and Sarah. Darlene was predeceased by her father, Walter Barlishen as well as her father and mother-in-law Maurice and Annie Mergaert.
Treasuring her family most, Darlene also had a great love of dogs. She was a loyal Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and also enjoyed golfing and time at the lake. Darlene was an avid league bowler at Chinook Bowladrome.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer.
