Dave is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Darlene (nee Roberts) and their daughter Carol (Kerry Ilg).
Dave is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Roy (Sandra) Roberts, Norman (Connie) Roberts, Louise (Edward David), Eric (Gilles Fournier) Roberts, Emily (Robert Barr), and Janet Roberts; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Dave was predeceased by his parents Harold and Violet Mitchell; all his brothers and sisters: Jim, Sherman, Leslie, Shirley, Olive, Madilla, Audrey, Vera; and his parents-in-law Eldon and Una Roberts.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Bethany Care Society Riverview for their compassionate care.
Dave was not a suit and tie kind of guy, so casual attire including blue jeans, is appropriate.
A Memorial Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary or to the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
