Dolores Beamish (Dodie) peacefully passed away on August 23rd, 2022 at the age of 89 years. Born October 31, 1932 to Chris and Gladys Johnson, Dodie spent most of her formative years in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan. At the age of 16, a young man caught her eye so she would go out of her way to make sure they would "bump" into each other on the street. She would then go on to marry the love of her life, Ted. Together, they moved to Winnipeg, Kamloops, Nelson, Cranbrook, and finally Calgary in 1971.
She enjoyed her time working at Sears where she made many dear friends. She was involved in many associations including brownies, Royal Purple, Royal Canadian Legion, and taught Sunday school. Her passions were baking, shuffleboard, curling, puzzles, and knitting slippers for the entire family. Then later in life, she had developed a crush on Carlo with a splash of cran.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children and families. Donna & Larry Doyle, Darren & Dianne Beamish, Ted & Kelly Beamish, and her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents Chris & Gladys Johnson and her husband Ted Beamish, daughter Maureen Haslam, and son Dale Beamish.
A Celebration of Life for Dodie will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel (3220 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, August 28th at 10:00 AM.
