Donald Raymond Gordon

Don went to the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 94.

Don was born in Cluny, Alberta to Lynn and Marie Gordon. He attended school in Cluny and at the age of 14 drove a truck hauling grain and livestock. He married Donna Heather in 1949. He then bought grain and sold oil and gas in Cluny. Don and Donna were blessed with five children: Monte, Alice, Rod, Mike and Ruthie.

Then they made the big move to Calgary where he and Donna and all five kids went into the Dairy Queen business. Throughout his career he owned twelve Dairy Queens and even though he sold them all latterly, he was always interested in what was going on in the Dairy Queen world.

Don was also known by all his family and friends as a servant of God and had a true heart for furthering the kingdom of God. His days were spent in prayer for the many missions he served around the world and that all of his family and friends might know the same love of God that he had.

Don is lovingly remembered by his children Alice and Mike, daughters-in-law Sheila and Heather, as well as nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. Don is also survived by his brother Rusty (Cheryl), sister-in-law Denise as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Lynn and Marie, his wife Donna, his daughter Ruthie, his sons Monte and Rod, brother Larry and sisters Dorothy and Hazel.

The family would like to thank Dr. Low and all the staff at Dulcina Hospice for their fantastic care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dulcina Hospice or your charity of choice.

To honour Don's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
