

December 11, 1928 – August 12, 2005
Donald Martin Larson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 12, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Don will be lovingly remembered by his family, wife Ruth of 55 years on August 15; three daughters Sherri (Rod) Gussman, Bev (Jay) Henkel, Kathy (Andy) Besserer; two sons Ric (Carol) Larson and Robin Larson; grandchildren Jennifer, Sam, Stacy, Jayson, Tamara, Jordon, Travis, Alana, Jesse, Chrissy, Jamie, Andrew, Alicia and three great grandchildren.
Don is also survived by his brother Carl Magnus Larson, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Melvin (Virginia) Wagner, Harvey (Sylvia) Wagner and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Randy in 1977.
Don was born in Holborn, AB. He grew up in Stony Plain, AB where he helped his dad at the Royal Café. After finishing high school he went to work for a short time with Bear Oil, then on to Pacific Petroleum. In 1955 he went to work for Baroid of Canada where he completed 30 years of service. After early retirement he went to work for West Coast Drilling Supplies. In 1987 he returned to Baroid of Canada on a consulting basis until he retired in 1991. Don liked to travel and camp and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved life and always had a smile and a story for all he met. His family was much loved and very important to him. He will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hope Lutheran Church at 3527 Boulton Road N.W., Calgary, AB on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Stewart Miller officiating.
