It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mom, grandma, and great grandma Donna Verree McNeil on Thursday, December 26, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta at 90 years of age.
Donna was born and lived her entire life in Calgary. Donna was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Heath McNeil. They shared a life which was centered on supporting family and creating many memories. Donna enjoyed attending kids sporting events, especially hockey, and travelling to many parts of the world.
Donna will be loving remembered by her daughter Patricia, son Grant (Karin), grandsons Justin (Angela) Brady, Ryan, Jeremy, Trent, and great grandsons James and Andrew.
Donna’s five grandsons fondly remember her Christmas scavenger hunts which sent them all around the house and outside for clues which resulted in lots of laughter and a friendly competition to be the winner.
Donna was proud to have worked with the Red Cross assisting with blood collection, and with the Calgary Board of Education prior to retiring.
Donna resided at Scenic Acres Retirement residence for the past three years and our family would like to extend our deep appreciation for the care and support provided by the healthcare team there.
Donna will be interned with her husband at a later date at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
