She is survived by her daughter Monica; her sister Elizabeth Buswell, both of Calgary; her brother Terry Scanlon (Susan) and her sister Joanne Burns, all of Ottawa, Ontario. Doris is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by her husband Heinz Bernhard in 2005 and her brother-in-law Cyril Buswell in 2023.
Doris enjoyed her retirement years, going South each winter. She enjoyed her membership in the Bowness Seniors Centre. Doris also enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines here in Calgary and in Arizona. She also enjoyed clogging, a form of dance, in Calgary and Arizona.
She was loved for her generosity, sense of humour and her love of dogs.
A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at a later date.
