Elaine was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. Her parents, Thomas and Dorothy, built a house in the area of Belfast in Northeast Calgary. Elaine had two brothers, Roy and Robert, but unfortunately Robert lost his life in a construction accident when he was sixteen.
Elaine met the love of her life, Albin, while visiting Quebec. They married in 1957 and because of the generosity of her parents, they were gifted the lot next door, and they built their lifelong home.
During their lives together Albin and Elaine raised five daughters. All five girls were introduced to horses by Albin, and many years were spent travelling to horse shows, gymkhanas and 4-H activities. Elaine, being the wonderful cook she was, always had delicious food packed for all the family’s adventures.
Elaine lost Albin on August 17, 2026 after 69 years of marriage. She missed him dearly after his death and she decided that two months was long enough to be apart.
Elaine is survived by daughters Lorrie (Ken), Bev, Tricia (Dave), Jackie (Joe); son-in-law Greg; grandchildren Jennifer, Thomas (Lisa), Jeffrey, Rachel, Ashley (Will), Kyle, Taylor (Lorilei); and great-granddaughter Hailey (Cole).
Elaine was predeceased by her daughter Sandra; son-in-law Cam; and brothers Robert and Roy.
In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
