Dorothy Foo (nee Lundy) mother, grandmother, artist, traveller and consummate hostess passed away on Monday July 20 at the age of 94 after a month long journey with cancer. Born in Calgary, Mom loved the city and mountains but considered herself lucky to have travelled and experienced many places in the world. She started drawing and painting at an early age but did not really explore her art until after her family had left home. Her watercolor and acrylic paintings were detailed and exquisite. Inspiration from time spent in Pender Harbor and I travels around the world provided material for many of her works. Mom enjoyed her circle of family and friends and was always ready for a good meal and glass of wine or a new adventure - or both.
She is survived by her children Dennis Jordhoy (Pam), Pat Jordhoy, and Karen Otjes (Tom) and stepchildren Wayne Foo (Heather), David Foo (Linda) and Sharon Foo, sisters Cheree Lundy, and Carla Lundy as well as a niece and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Foo in 2006.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made through Calgary Health Services for improvements to Unit 29 at Peter Lougheed Hospital. The entire staff there, including surgeons, nurses, and all the support people were very kind and compassionate.
