

She was born on December 14, 1940 in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, to Elsie and William Schickerowsky. She grew up in Bashaw and moved to Calgary with her mother, Elsie, her sisters Beatrice, Vivian, Ruby and her brothers Ken, Elmer, Glen and Wayne.
Dot met and married her one and only love Don and, together they raised 8 children. Upon Don’s passing Dot took in an additional two children on her own.
Her love for children ran deep not only in her personal life in but her professional life as well. While raising her children Dot worked at Bridgeland Daycare Centre and upon retiring opened a day home. She then went on to care for over 100 children as a foster parent.
She retired at the age of 72 and spent the rest of her days enjoying her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandson.
Dot will be missed by her children; Bill (Brandi) Fraser, Charlie Fraser, Dallas Quewezance, Amy Whillans, Kim (Wayne) Dobson, Tina (Brian) Blokker, Cindy Fraser and partner (Billy), Ivy Fraser-Planicka (Tony), Kayla Gale and partner (Taylor), 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She will also be remembered by her siblings; Elmer (Isabelle) Schickerowsky, Vivian Dumais and Ruby (Ben) Dumais.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald (Don) Fraser, daughter Micky Fraser-Hogan and great grandson David Hayden Whillans, as well as her father William Schickerowsky, her mother Elsie Greenwood, her brothers Ken, Glen and Wayne and her sister Beatrice.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM, at the family's request, all guests are asked to wear a mask. Interment to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the Family at the Winston Heights Mountain View Community Hall, 520 - 27 Avenue N.W., Calgary, Alberta from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 P.M.
