Dorothy E Turner

We regretfully say goodbye to our mother Dorothy Eleanor Turner (nee Davidson) passed peacefully at the South Health Campus, in Calgary on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the age of 91. Mother to Deborah and Stuart (Leola and family of Calgary). She was predeceased (by 11 months) by her husband of 69 years Carman Turner, her parents Percy and Hazel Davidson (step mom Nettie), daughter Deborah (2015), and sister Myrna Fairweather (2005) and brother-in-law Bill Fairweather (2014).

Dorothy worked at a medical clinic in Pembroke where she met Carman who later became her husband and life long dance partner. Living in Ottawa they raised their family to which they became caregivers to their daughter Debbie (MS) for 35 years. They enjoyed many trips to Florida and various other places where they loved to dance. In 2018 they moved to Calgary to be closer to their son and family. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends throughout southern Ontario, together with the Fairweather family.

We acknowledge and thank the staff of the South Health Campus for their excellent care and compassionate support during mom’s final days.

A visitation will be held for friends and family at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023, with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate). A link will be provided at South Calgary Funeral Centre’s website for funeral viewing if family or friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory directly to the Salvation Army Grace Manor, Ottawa.
