Douglas is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, June; sons, Bruce, Brent and Brian (Lana) and grandsons, Austin, Conner and Noah. He is also survived by his brother, Tom; sisters, Patsy Lee and Norah Eaves along with numerous nieces and nephews. Douglas was predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Kenneth and his brother, Gordon. Doug was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, as well as a past member of the Mount Pleasant Tennis Club and Skrastins Outdoor Club.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 204 6A St N.E., Calgary on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Suite 200-119 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 or Doctors Without Borders Canada, 402 - 720 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5S 2T9.
