Dyma Jenkins passed away peacefully at the Brentwood Care Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the age of 95 years. Dyma was born in Esbjerg, Denmark. She emigrated from Denmark to the U.S. in 1948. In 1963, she immigrated to Calgary, where her two brothers and sister had settled. Dyma worked for the Calgary Planning Department until her retirement at the age of 67. She and John Kopala built the family home on Anatapi Lane in Springbank, where they lived happily and enjoyed regular visits from family over many years. Dyma is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Linda; son, Dan; spouse, John Kopala; grandchildren, Kimberlee and Alena Jenkins; as well as great-grandchildren Elias, Finn and Willow. She is predeceased by her brothers, Harry and Henning Brink and sister, Lily. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with a Visitation held one hour prior to service.
