Born on October 17, 1931, on a farm in Winton, Saskatchewan, Eunice was the daughter of Jessie and Thomas Harper. She grew up in a vibrant household as one of ten children and was the last surviving sibling of her family. She later attended business college and went on to build a fulfilling career, thoroughly loving her job as the manager of accounts payable for ATCO until her retirement.
Eunice was a remarkably kind and generous soul who spent her life putting others before herself. Her warmth, infectious smile, and compassionate heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She loved playing board games and cards, bringing joy and a friendly competitive spirit to many family gatherings. She dedicated her time to uplifting her family and her community, always offering a helping hand or a comforting word to those in need.
She is survived by her son, Tim, and daughter-in-law, JoAnne; her beloved grandsons, Matthew (Ashley), Jeffery (Jenna), and Tanner (Izzie); and her half-sister, Sharon Waldbillig. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Marlene, Crystal, and Rhonda, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kip Knutson, on August 18, 1971; her former husband, Jerry Knutson, in September 2003; her parents; and all nine of her cherished brothers and sisters.
A service to celebrate Eunice’s beautiful life will be held on October 17 at 1:00 PM at South Calgary Funeral Centre.
In honor of Eunice’s generous spirit, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
