She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughters; Sharon (Kevin), Debbie, June and Kelly, her brother; John Prytula of Saskatoon, her sister; Olga “Ollie” of Saskatoon, her grandchildren; Sheena, Wayne (Stephanie), Christopher, and Tanya, her great-grandchildren; Ava and Isla, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Eva was predeceased by her parents; Paranka “Polly” and John, her brothers; Victor and Peter, and her sisters; Elizabeth Zuk and Anne Poncelet.
Born on January 6, 1932, in Tway, Saskatchewan, Eva learned the value of hard work and family from an early age. As a young woman, she helped her family by working in the family store and assisting at the local post office.
After attending Teachers College, Eva dedicated many years to education, beginning her teaching career at just 17 years old in rural Saskatchewan one-room schoolhouses. She later moved to Calgary, where she continued teaching while courageously raising her four daughters on her own.
Eva had a joyful spirit and a lifelong love of music. She especially loved singing hymns and could often turn almost any conversation into a song, bringing smiles to those around her. Her faith, kindness and strong values were the foundation of her life, and she shared them generously with her family and community through volunteer work and a Brownie leader, baseball coach, and supporter of charitable causes.
Above all, Eva’s greatest love was her family. She will be remembered for her strength, generosity, unwavering faith, and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
