She was born in Poland to the late Regina and Jan Lubicki. She spent her childhood in the village of Petrynow. As a young woman she relocated near the capital of Poland, and this is where she met the love of her life Tadeusz. Fela and Tadziu married in 1969 and spent 54 years as man and wife. They immigrated to Canada in 1985 with their two children and resided in Calgary until their golden years when they decided to relocate back to Poland.
For many years Feliksa was an active member of the Polish Community in Calgary. She often volunteered in the parish hall kitchen. She enjoyed baking, reading and traveling. Fela was very faithful and practiced her faith until the end. She was a fighter and when diagnosed with dementia she fought with dignity and grace. She did not shy away from hardship and lived her life with determination, humility and compassion. Her legacy of honesty, kindness, integrity and service will live on in those who knew and loved her. She lived her life according to God’s plan and often said that she would rather suffer than to have others suffer in her place.
Feliksa is survived by her loving children Robert and Agnieszka (Owen) and her three beloved grandsons Ian, Kyle and Adam. She leaves behind her younger sister Bogusia and many extended family members in Canada as well as in Poland. She will be greatly missed by them and by her many friends here in Calgary and abroad.
She is preceded by her caring husband Tadeusz, her parents Jan and Regia and her younger brother Mirek.
“Wieczny odpoczynek racz jej dać, Panie, a światłość wiekuista niechaj jej świeci. Niech odpoczywa w pokoju wiecznym. Amen”
