

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Boyd on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the age of 91 years. Frank, a native Calgarian, was considered a true gentleman and had a wonderful and wry sense of humor. He served his country during World War II. Frank was the founder and driving force behind an aircraft servicing company that survives in Calgary today. He loved sports and the outdoors. Frank was an avid fisherman, a highly skilled boater, and curling champion. He is pre-deceased by his wife June and common-law wife Margaret Knight. Frank is lovingly remembered by his son Bill Boyd and wife Barbara; his daughter Patricia Howard and husband Dan. Frank is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Karen (Todd), John (Michelle), Carolynn, Christina; great grandchildren Kate and Tyler. He is also survived by his close friend Annie Cole. The family wishes to thank the staff and care workers at the Foothills Medical Centre Unit 47 for their compassion, care and empathy in Frank’s last days. His family and friends will miss him dearly. A Memorial Service will be held at will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Unit 47 Intensive Palliative Care, Foothills Medical Centre, 1403 – 29 St NW, Calgary, AB T2N 2T9.
