Fred Joseph Williams passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the age of 92. He was born in Drumheller, Alberta in February of 1933. Fred lived by an “Attitude of Gratitude.” He was grateful for all who crossed his path from the time he was preparing for the Franciscan life as a priest to the last days of life with his wife and stepson who cared for him dearly. An excerpt from his memoirs is this:
“Now is the time to say Goodbye. My prayer for each of you from Beyond is this…
May you keep building a more peaceful and better world for all. Let this sacred ground, Mother Earth, be a place for all. May you dream together. May you be bound together by a joyous celebration of life. Shine on like diamonds in the magic of this land called Canada. Smile and Play…Laugh and Dance…Give and Share. My Love to you All. I’m Glad I Was Here!”
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Catherine (Reban); his stepson Alexander Dalderis; his sister-in-law Lorraine; his nephews Rod (Lopa), Ted (Caroline), Bill (Beth), Fred, and Doug; his grandnephews Matthew (Victoria), Evan, and Michael; and grandnieces Nicole and Erin. Fred had many cousins – Don and Ruth in Calgary, with whom he communicated the most. Fred was predeceased by his brother Bill in 2023.
A Celebration of Fred’s life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
