July 21, 1953 – July 12, 2013
Gary Anthony Bockman passed away peacefully at Agape Hospice in Calgary, AB on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the age of 59 years.
Gary will be dearly missed by his wife Barbara; daughters Tracy and Kimberley; sons-in-law, Jim and Randy and his grandchildren Victoria, Adriana, Elizabeth, Meredith and Lincoln. He is also survived by his mother Jean and brother Rick. He was predeceased by his father Tony and mother-in-law Eileen. Gary was a devoted family man and nothing gave him more pleasure than time spent with his daughters and grandchildren. His well known love of baseball was equaled by his love of carpentry and he was fortunate to spend his final years working for the wonderful team at Albi Homes. Gary was very honored when Tom and Debra Mauro at Albi chose to rename their SAIT scholarship in his name. The family would like to thank Dr. Bahlis and the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic and the doctors and staff at Agape Hospice for the wonderful care and consideration Gary received during this difficult journey.
A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gary Bockman Scholarship for Carpenter Apprentice at SAIT c/o Albi Homes 4770 – 110 Avenue SE Calgary, AB T2C 2T8, Agape Hospice, 1302 – 8th Avenue NW Calgary, AB T2N 1B8 or to the Southern Alberta Multiple Myeloma Society at 5640 Lodge Cres.
