Gene Long Chow was born on October 26th, 1936 in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan. He was the first child of Ethel Gee "Ma" and Harry Chow. He is survived by his sisters, Marie and May Gee and his brother, Wing Gee. Sadly, he recently lost his brother Hank Gee, who passed suddenly on January 22nd, 2016. Gene passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4th, 2016, in the presence of his daughter, Sherry Mosmann, his son, David Chow and his niece, Shannon. He was a proud father, who always expressed how lucky he was to have such good kids. He often endearingly called Sherry "sweets" and ended ritual telephone conversations with David, saying "love you son". Gene was proud of his entire family, including his many nephews and nieces - all of whom referred to him as "Uncle Gene". Gene was a hardworking man, with a charming personality. He had many friends. Seldom would he take one of his daily walks without passing somebody he knew. He left behind his best friend, love and wife of 29 years, Marguerite McVicar, who he married on June 27th, 1987. Gene shared over three decades with his "Maggie". Gene led a truly interesting life - one that witnessed many travels during his long employment in the electronics industry. As a young man, he was in record sales, where he met many celebrities, including Neil Diamond, Pete Townsend and Buddy Holly. Gene had many daily rituals - that impacted many people - including daily telephone calls, walks with his dogs (Kumo and Kuma-Go), more recently walks through the Mall, time with his grand-dog (Aysa) and Saturday lunches with his kids and friend, Chandra Patel. Gene will be missed by all who he touched. As per Gene's wishes, no funeral will be held.
