April 10, 1962 – May 1, 2012
With much sadness and heavy hearts, Glenn’s family announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in a car accident at the age of 50 years. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife Karen and step daughter Stephanie. Glenn was born in Estevan, SK and lived his childhood in Ontario and Saskatchewan before moving to Calgary at age 8. Glenn completed his schooling in Calgary and received certification as a dual ticketed journeyman electrician and welder as his lifelong vocation. Glenn had many passions in life. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love for camping and fishing, always joined by the love of his life Karen. He took pride in his mechanical skills when working on his motorcycles, quads and dirt bikes. Glenn was well known by family and friends for watching his side-by-side big screen TV's on a Sunday afternoon cheering on his favorite football team, the San Diego Chargers. On non-football nights you could find him in his 'man cave' in the garage loudly playing his 'tunes' while working on his vintage Porsche. Glenn’s loving family continues to celebrate and honour his life. Glenn will also be missed by his brothers Garry (Wyn), Daryl (Gwen), Garth (Pam) and sister Donna (Tom), as well as nieces and nephews Elyse, Mark, Colin, Brad, Rob, Laura, Victoria, Richard and Doug. He is also survived by his parents-in-law Mitzi and Jack Goodie, sister-in-law Roxanne (Wayne) and brother-in-law Pat, as well as nieces and nephews Michael, David, Kevin, Keith and Scott. Glenn was predeceased by his parents Melvin and Olga, sister Gayle, sister-in-law Joanne and brother-in-law David. A Celebration of Glenn’s Life was held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2C 2T7. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
