

It is with love and sadness that the family announces the passing of Grace Lillian Ballard on February 10, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Grace was predeceased by her loving husband Ray; her sister Gwen; and brother Arthur. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Bill Boyd of Nanaimo, B.C., and Pat and Stan Nelson of Calgary. Grace is also survived by her devoted grandchildren Karen and Todd Irving of Nanaimo, B.C., John Boyd, Troy Black, Donna and Brian Barnes, and Philip Nelson all of Calgary; and her great granddaughter Katelyn Irving. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Alfred and Doris Nicholas; and by several nieces and nephews across Canada and the U.S.A.
Grace was known as “Mom” and “Grandma” to all who knew and loved her. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Acacia Chapter and a life member of the PC Party of Canada.
Special thanks to Dr. Eric A. Wasylenko and his team of nurses from Palliative Care, and Marg Whitaker of Home Care for their compassionate care given to Mom.
Memorial Services held at Holy Cross Anglican Church, 2828 –19 Street N.W., Calgary on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Way officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made in Grace’s memory to the H. Ray and Grace L. Ballard Accounting Award, c/o Malaspina University Foundation, 900 – Fifth Street, Nanaimo, B.C., V9R 5S5.
