Gwendolyn Ilene Vinoly

Gwen was born on October 26, 1962, in Edmonton, Alberta. After a stay in the east Kootenays, she eventually relocated to southwestern British Columbia to build a life and family before finding the latest chapter of her life in Calgary. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, positive outlook, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Gwen was always the first to offer a hug, a kind word, and encouragement, and her caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Gwen took great pride in her work and believed in always performing her best. When not at work, she found joy in quilting, spending time playing bingo with her mother, and sharing laughter with her many friends. She treasured time with her family above all else.

Gwen is survived by her beloved husband, Mike, with whom she shared nearly 40 wonderful years of marriage. She was a proud and devoted mother to Michael (Michelle) and their son, Michael; Amanda and her children, Dyllan and Elliott; Jamie and his children, Maddison and Andrew; and Lenneke (Phil) and their children, McKenna, Ace, and Grace. Her greatest joy was watching her family grow, and she loved each of them with all her heart.

She is also lovingly remembered by her mother, Isla; her brother, Orvil (Gwen); her sister, Lesa; her nephew, Dean; along with extended family members, dear friends and many others who found themselves at the Vinoly household for extended stays and often referred to Gwen as ‘Mom’.

Gwen was predeceased by her father, Orvil.

Gwen’s kindness, unwavering positivity, generous heart, and beautiful smile will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
